Where Porto Cristo is?
Information of Porto Cristo
Porto Cristo is situated on Majorca’s eastern coast, in the municipal area of Manacor, 65 km from Palma. It has less than 5,000 inhabitants, although its population doubles in summer with the arrival of holidaymakers, mainly from other parts of the island.
There is a wide range of bars and restaurants in the vicinity of the wharf and the beach, and the area serves as a meeting place for many people on weekend nights.
The harbour is used as a starting point for sailing trips along the coast. The boats used for such excursions have gradually replaced trawlers in the harbour, where professional fishermen are now few and far between and the vast majority of “llaüts” (traditional vessels, formerly rigged with a lateen sail) belong to enthusiasts.
Known as Cala Manacor, the harbour is located on the east coast of Majorca and is of a medium size.
The harbour has 259 berths, toilet and shower facilities, a refuelling station, a supermarket, a dry dock, a bureau de change, a bar and restaurant, a workshop, a maritime channel, drinking water, a harbour master’s office, electricity and a crane service.
